Gram's Whole Wheat Bread and Rolls
Ingredients
Proof together:
¼ cup warm water
2 Tbsp. active dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
To the proofed mixture add:
2 cups warm milk
½ cup melted butter
½ cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
6-7 cups whole wheat flour (either Wheat Montana Prairie Gold hard white wheat or Bronze Chief hard red wheat)
Directions
Knead together to a soft, elastic dough. Let rise until double. Shape into 24 rolls and place in a greased pan, just touching or shape as desired into two large or three small bread loaves (optional-brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds). Let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes for rolls or 20-30 minutes for loaves. Brush immediately with melted butter.
